How to become a
Chartered Physiotherapist in India?

of Chartered Physiotherapists. Indian Association of
Chartered Physiotherapists is a sole organization in
India that Certifies a Practitioner as a Chartered.

rules. The proper verification of the
physiotherapists’ qualification and then their
dedication and full engagement in the professional
development determines and assures the Association
to allow him/her for the Membership or not.
How to get Affiliation
or Recognization by IACP?
Any college/ Institute/ school offering
Undergraduate courses in the field of
Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy or Diploma courses in
the field of Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy can
apply for Affiliation/ Recognization of IACP.
Affiliation by IACP follows a strict norms,
legalities and formalities. ( to go in depth see the
details under Affiliation section)
How to do Online
Certificate Courses?
If you’re eligible for any course
(Diploma/Certificate) offered by I.A.C.P. these are
the steps you will need to follow to get an
Admission-
Step 1: Download the Admission form and fill it up
either Digitally or Physically.
Step 2: Email the form with all the required,
supporting Documents attached to this email address-
iacp_saad@rediffmail.com . And wait for the
acceptance. ( It usually takes 24-48 hours to
analyze the Documents)
Step 3: A telephonic call of acceptance will come to
you.
Step 4: Make the Fee payment Online.
Step 5: An email of conformation will come to you
when the Admission is conformed by I.A.C.P.
(Feel free to coordinate through call at any time
during the admission).
How to apply for
Membership?
For Student, Professional, Institutional or Life
Membership the applicant has to follow the Rules and
Procedure. You will find the rules annexed to the
respective Membership Forms.
How to get Certificate
of Good standard?
Any member of I.A.C.P. can request for the
certificate of good understanding. Raise a request
through email mentioning your I.A.C.P. Registration
number and Purpose.
Who is a Life Member?
A qualified person in the field of
physiotherapy/physical therapy who pays the
Membership fees quoted by I.A.C.P. will be an
I.A.C.P. Life Member. The candidate will be awarded
a Certificate with a Membership Registration Number.
Apart from life membership certificate; candidate
will be issued a Chartered Seal from I.A.C.P.
Who is a Professional
Member?
A qualified person who has done either Bachelor in
Physiotherapy (B.P.T.), or Diploma in Physiotherapy
(D.P.T.), or Assistant Physiotherapy ( A.P.T.) with
a practice experience of 4 years and pays the
Membership fees quoted by I.A.C.P. will be a
Professional Member. The candidate will be awarded a
Certificate with a Membership Registration Number
valid for the termed duration (i.e. 2 years, 4
years). After that membership voids if not
renewed/upgraded.
Who is a Student
Member?
The students pursuing Undergraduate Courses(B.P.T)
or Diploma Courses(not less then 2 years) in the
field of physiotherapy/ physical therapy, from any
recognized Institute/ College/ School which is the
Institutional Member of I.A.C.P. or is Affiliated/
Recognized by I.A.C.P.; can apply for Student
Membership. The candidate will get a Certificate
with a Membership Registration Number valid just for
the termed duration. After that membership voids if
not renewed/upgraded.
Who is an
Institutional Member?
Those Institutions offering 4 ½ year undergraduate
courses or at least 2 year Diploma Course in the
field of Physiotherapy/ Physical Therapy and are
affiliated/ attached by any UGC recognized
university/ deemed university/ college anywhere in
India, can apply for Institutional Membership.
Institutional membership is renewed after a time
span of 5 years.
Note: Institutional Membership does not mean that
students/ faculty/ staff are also the members of
I.A.C.P. Here the word Institutional Member only
means College/ Institute/ School is the Member.
All the students/ faculty must separately ask for
Life/ Student Membership to I.A.C.P. through the
Institute.
Who are Honorary
Members?
Any person engaged to promote or uplift
Physiotherapy anywhere through any means can be
recommended by Indian Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists for the grant of “Honorary
Membership”.
How to Pay Membership
fee?
Fee for any type of Membership is paid in the form
of Demand Draft (D.D) in favor of “INDIAN
ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED PHYSIOTHERAPISTS”
payable at “LUCKNOW”.
How to pay fee of
Online Courses?
You can pay the fee of online course by any of these
means- GooglePay | Paytm | UPI | Online bank to bank
transfer after the acceptance of admission form.
How the membership is
voided?
If any member found indulged in any anti-Indian
Association of Chartered Physiotherapists activity
(few of them are listed below) will be terminated
and his/her membership will be cancelled
(However a chance to clear the doubt may be given to
the candidate in writing).
Membership will be subjected for cancellation if:
1. Dies or turns psychotic/ mentally ill, and is
found incapable.
2. Convicted in the court of law for any civic/
moral/ criminal/ malpractice charge.
3. Fails to submit or pay balances within a period
of 6 months after the due date.
4. Resigns by will due to his/ her personal reasons.
